Donation via United Way
The recommended method of making a pledge through the United Way to SESEF is to fill out a United Way Payroll Deduction Pledge Card at your place of work and have your donation automatically deducted at work from your payroll. The key to designating the funds is to write down the name of the organization you want the United Way to send the money to—in this case, "The School of Environmental Studies Education Foundation." Without our name, the donation would go into the United Way general fund. If they need our address and/or phone number, you can include the following.

The School of Environmental Studies Education Foundation
12155 Johnny Cake Ridge Road
Apple Valley, MN 55124
Phone: 952-431-8750

Some of the major organizations that receive money have a United Way number. Being as small as we are, we do not have a United Way number available for donors to use. You will have to write down our name instead. Also realize that the United Way keeps 6% of all funds donated, so that only 94% of your donation goes to the Foundation. If your employer does not match your donation, please consider sending a check directly, because 100% will go towards student activities.

We also are often asked about making a United Way donation online. SESEF recommends against this method as, without a United Way number, all such online donations end up going into the United Way's general funds.
