196 merit scholarships

Fourteen District 196 high school seniors have been named semifinalists in the 2010-11 National Merit Scholarship Program and another 29 seniors are being recognized as National Merit commended students this year. The 14 National Merit semifinalists from District 196 are:



- David Lauer and Jacob Thoennes of Apple Valley High School

- Victoria Anderson, William Cox, Jessica Hasslinger, Lars Johnson, Bokil Lopez-Pineda and Ryan Pham of Eagan High School

- Steven Albers, Jack Frederickson, Timothy Jurney, Sarah Olson and Christi Peterson of Eastview High School

- Nathan Childs of Rosemount High School

The 14 semifinalists from District 196 and their schools will now submit additional information in order for the students to be considered for National Merit finalist selection. In District 196, the following 29 seniors are 2010-11 National Merit commended students:

- Andrew Dodds, Kirby Hermansen, Jonathan Slater and Shawn Tangen of Apple Valley High School

- Louis Chapdelaine, Sean Choi, Peter Dunifon, Kathryn Feterl, Kevin Hsiung, Garrett Lukin, Jonathan Miu, Arnesh Roy, Joseph Stelman and Kyra Stephenson of Eagan High School

- Daniel Albain, Samuel Fouts, Jakob Gomez, Diane Lenertz, Carl Proepper, Benjamin Smidt, Emily Snodgrass and Eric Storm of Eastview High School

- Megan Fitzgerald, Samuel Garbrecht, Kevin Larson, Jessica Montgomery and Hannah O'Donnell of Rosemount High School

- Johan Hedblom and Alina Orbidan of the School of Environmental Studies
